This image was created using mixed art forms such as acrylic paint, pastels, and pencils. It was inspired by a meditation on how we often go through confusing times that do not have simple answers or explanations. At times we may only see in part, but we can experience being loved and led through what it painful by a God who fully knows and understands us. There is a way of hope no matter what, and compassion for what is disorienting and difficult (hence the fog but the clear path and colors of comfort).
Elita lives with her husband and three sensitive, creative children. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Palmer Seminary, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland. She was trained as a Chaplain at John Hopkins Hospital and is an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church. She’s served in various types of pastoral care roles – in the New York, an underprivileged community of Baltimore City, as well as in Malawi, Africa. Elita believes in the value beyond measure of the inner child within each person, and of the importance of ministering to that child no matter how old one is. She is passionate about integrating creative arts with a holistic perspective to emotional and spiritual care...
