Print of a multi-media piece painted mostly with acrylics. The depiction was inspired by a prayer time reflection considering Christ’s counter-cultural love as a shield of defense. In this picture he is positioned in between the accused woman and the angry stone-ready mob. Bending low and mysteriously (Writing) he stills the crowd, before rising to take a stand that saved the woman’s life and reveals the shared problem of sin in all, except he alone. The image is also meant to foreshadow how the Messiah would soon then bend to the most humble and lowest place as (Word in flesh) between us all and death, offering salvation to all…corner/living/risen stone (an illuminated cross, tomb with rolled away stone, ichthys, and the placement of Jesus are suggestive in this way within the picture).
Elita lives with her husband and three sensitive, creative children. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Palmer Seminary, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland. She was trained as a Chaplain at John Hopkins Hospital and is an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church. She’s served in various types of pastoral care roles – in the New York, an underprivileged community of Baltimore City, as well as in Malawi, Africa. Elita believes in the value beyond measure of the inner child within each person, and of the importance of ministering to that child no matter how old one is. She is passionate about integrating creative arts with a holistic perspective to emotional and spiritual care...
