This piece was painted on paper using acrylics, it was then slightly altered using media art. It was derived from the artist’s contemplation of how Christ sacrificially took a cup of death to offer all the cup of life – as celebrated in the sacrament of communion. The messiah did the work to freely offer a way all could have deepest communion and freedom in His love for eternity. Absorbing by faith this unfathomable gift he sacrificed so much to give - is the greatest way we satiate the heart of God.
Elita lives with her husband and three sensitive, creative children. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Palmer Seminary, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland. She was trained as a Chaplain at John Hopkins Hospital and is an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church. She’s served in various types of pastoral care roles – in the New York, an underprivileged community of Baltimore City, as well as in Malawi, Africa. Elita believes in the value beyond measure of the inner child within each person, and of the importance of ministering to that child no matter how old one is. She is passionate about integrating creative arts with a holistic perspective to emotional and spiritual care...
